Meet Meredith

Meredith's lifelong passion for design was shaped by a childhood spent moving between diverse places and cultures. Her formative years in England fostered a deep appreciation for art, history, and the quiet comfort of a thoughtfully designed home - an influence that continues to inform her work today.

Holding Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in both Graphic Design and Art History, Meredith began her career in New York City, London, and later San Francisco, working with leading design houses on corporate identities, packaging, and large-scale design projects for global brands. During her time in NYC, she worked at the MoMA Noble Education Center, where she shared her love of the art masters with elementary students, an experience that further deepened her belief in the power of art as a means of storytelling.

Later, while raising her two children, Meredith returned to freelance graphic design and organically began taking on interior design projects. What started as a creative outlet quickly revealed itself as a natural evolution. She transitioned into interiors full-time, bringing together her visual training, historical perspective, and intuitive understanding of space.

In 2020, Meredith co-founded Darby Wallis Design and later launched her own studio. Her work is rooted in thoughtful planning, timeless craftsmanship, and genuine collaboration with each client.

Art plays a central role in Meredith's design process. Art consulting is an integral part of her services, thoughtfully curating and incorporating artwork into every space. She believes art is a deeply personal and essential layer of a well-designed home—one that brings meaning, emotion, and individuality, and ultimately tells the client's unique story.
